Box Score Tiffin University (13-5-1) suffered an upset 3-2 loss to Kentucky Wesleyan in the G-MAC Semifinals at Paradiso Fields.
The game was a wild one as the Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after a scoreless first half. Calum Newson connected on a goal in the 47th minute while Callum Nolan tacked on another goal in the 56th minute to give Kentucky Wesleyan a surprising second-half lead.
Tiffin battled back, with
Anelson Azard taking a pass from
Caleb Gibbons in the 57th minute to pull the Dragons to within 2-1.
Tiffin equalized in the 62nd minute when PrayGod Palangyo took a ricocheted pass from
Amara Kamara and buried it in the net to make it 2-2.
The score remained deadlocked until the Panthers struck with just 36 seconds left in regulation. Xavier Angel knocked home a ball that ricocheted around the box to give the Panthers the dramatic win.
Tiffin dominated the stat sheet, outshooting KWC 14-5 and 13-2 on corner kicks but it wasn't enough.Â
Felix Graf took the tough loss in goal, allowing 3 goals over 90 minutes with no saves.
Tiffin will now await the NCAA selection show Monday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 pm to find out their fate in the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
