The Tiffin University women's soccer team (1-10-1, 1-6-1 G-MAC) fell to #4 Ashland on Thursday afternoon at the Paradiso Athletic Complex by a score of 3-0.
TU's defense held strong for the first 73 minutes and the Eagles finally broke through for their first goal on a breakaway in the 74th minute. Ashlanded added two more goals in the next 1:17 as all three came in a nine-minute span.
Both defenses played clean in the first half and both teams sent two shots on goal during the period. In the second half, Ashland held the Dragons to just three shot attempts and overall, AU outshot TU 11-7 in the game.
TU had two free kick opportunities in the game just outside the box but were unable to cash in.
Sam McPhee led the Dragons with three shot attempts and Ada Tempert recorded two shot attempts.
Malea Nelson got the start in goal and played only 13 minutes after being forced to leave the game due to injury. Aubree Lee made her collegiate debut and played the remaining 77 minutes. She was credited with the loss and made three saves.
The Dragons hit the road on Saturday for a G-MAC game at Ursuline at 1 p.m.
