An interception on Tiffin's first possession of the game deep in its own territory led to a 23-yard field goal by the Panthers as they quickly took a 3-0 lead.

Tiffin put together a number of drives in the opening quarter but could get no points out of it. They finally cracked the scoreboard with 8:19 left in the second quarter as five Ronald Blackman runs coupled with a pass reception led to a 1-yard TD run up the middle that made it 7-3, Tiffin.

Tiffin ate up the final 6:00 of the half with another drive that ended with a 33-yard field goal by Ben Rudolph with two seconds left that made it 10-3 at hafltime.

Two quick scores after halftime led to some breathing room for the Dragons. On ODU's opening possession of the half, Chucky Lewis picked off a pass and returned it 21 yards for a pick 6 that pushed TU's lead to 17-3.

TU also scored on its next possession, putting together a 79-yard drive. Quarterback Alex Johnson had a big 40-yard pass play to Jalen Thomas that brought them down to the ODU 34-yard line. A few plays later, Blackman caught another pass and weaved his way into the end zone from 21 yards out to give TU a 24-3 lead.

ODU tried to get back in it by running the ensuring kickoff back 92 yards for a score and then picked off a Johnson pass that ultimately turned into a 29-yard field goal that brought the Pantthers to within 11 points at 24-13.

The Panthers tried to get closer to the Dragons, but the TU defense did not allow ODU inside its territory at all in the fourth quarter. The game was put out of reach with 3:48 to play when Blackman busted out for a 62-yard TD run down the sideline that made it 31-13.
