Tiffin University (4-9, 2-3 G-MAC) had a rough first half, falling behind big early en route to an 86-41 loss at Northwood.
The Timberwolves exploded out of the gate in the first quarter, streaking past the Dragons 21-8. Tiffin could not turn the momentum around, shooting just 20 percent in the second quarter as Northwood outscored them 28-9 in the quarter to lead 49-17 at halftime.
The Dragons were unable to get their shooting on track, with their best quarter from the floor resulting in a 34 percent mark. Northwood finished with a 49 percent field goal mark overall, while the Dragons finished with 27 percent.
Nearly half of Northwood's points came inside, where they outscored TU 42-32 and outrebounded the Dragons 51-33.
NU hit 11 three-point shots to Tiffin's 1, as TU hit 1 of 26 triple attempts.
Kirsten Williams led the Dragons with 8 points, while
Mahya Lindesmith and
Grace Craig had 6 points each. Craig and
Tomi Hinkle tied for the team lead with 6 rebounds.
