Tiffin University (4-15, 2-9 G-MAC) played well early but was undone by turnovers in a 62-45 road loss to Ashland.
Tiffin opened the first quarter by shooting at a 54 percent clip but four three-pointers by the Eagles catapulted them to an 18-13 edge in the period.
Both teams struggled from the field in the second quarter, with Ashland edging TU 12-9 to take a close 30-22 lead into the halftime break.
Neither team shot well again after the break but the turnovers continued to hurt the Dragons' efforts. TU totaled 21 turnovers in the game with Ashland taking advantage with a 23-4 scoring edge off TU miscues.
Ashland outscored TU 16-9 for their biggest advantage of the night in the third quarter, giving them a 46-31 lead heading into the final period.
Ashland held a 15-6 edge at the free throw line while also outrebounding the Dragons 39-30.Â
Kirsten Williams led the Dragons with 13 points and 8 rebounds while
Catara Dejarnette also had 13 points. The two combined to shoot 50 percent from the floor but the rest of the Dragons connected at a 32 percent clip.Â
