Tiffin University (4-14, 2-8 G-MAC) played close early but could not make up a second-quarter deficit, falling to Trevecca Nazarene 64-48.
The Dragons and the Trojans battled throughout the opening quarter, with TNU pulling ahead late 15-12. The momentum swung Trevecca's way in the next quarter, though, as they pushed ahead to a 25-13 edge in the period. They entered the halftime break up 40-25.
TNU shot 45 percent in the first half, outpacing Tiffin's 34 percent effort while also starting a trend in the game by hitting 7 free throws to Tiffin's 1.
Tiffin and Trevecca Nazarene battled evenly throughout the second half, with TNU outscoing TU just 24-23, but the Dragons could not put together a solid scoring run to climb back in the game.
Overall Tiffin shot 31 percent in the game, as the Trojans connected on 18 of 22 free throws while Tiffin went 5 for 6 from the line. TNU also controlled the pain, outrebounding TU 48-37.
Tomi Hinkle had a good game off the bench, totaling 13 points as the only TU player to reach double figures.
Kaitlyn Moeller had 7 points off the bench while
Kirsten Williams had 6 points and 7 rebounds and
