Ashland shot 61 percent in the opening quarter, outscoring Tiffin 27-10 to take a commanding lead. They improved their shooting in the second quarter, rising to 62 percent to outpace a strong shooting percentage by the Dragons in the quarter (50 percent). After a 24-14 period, Ashland led 51-24 at halftime.
The Eagles used a strong post game and tough defense to spark their offense. They held a 33-20 rebounding edge while also forcing 18 Dragons turnovers while committing only 4 of their own.
Ashland held a big 28-3 edge in points off turnovers and outscored TU in the paint 60-32. The Eagles also had 10 steals in the game.
