Tiffin University (4-8) picked up a road victory at Notre Dame, holding strong in the fourth quarter to win 57-54.
The game opened with the Falcons taking the first quarter 14-7, but the Dragons responded with a 17-13 margin in the next quarter and trailed just 27-24 at halftime.
TU came out of the halftime locker room on fire, playing their best quarter and outscoring Notre Dame 18-9 to push their lead to 42-36 at the end of the third quarter.
Notre Dame went on a 9-1 run that put it back on top 47-45 at the 5:46 mark of the final quarter. Tied 52-52 with 1:24 remaining, TU went on a 5-0 run, with
Kirsten Williams hitting a key layup and
Catara Dejarnette connecting on three free throws. TU led at that point 57-55 with 28 seconds left to secure the victory.
Williams led the team with 11 points and 10 rebounds while Dejarnette also had 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Presley Feltner added 8 points while
Grace Craig had 7 points and 6 rebounds and
Mahya Lindesmith also had 7 points.
Tiffin hit four more three-pointers than Notre Dame (7 to 3) while also beating them at the line 14-9.
