Tiffin University (3-8) fell behind early and could not catch up in an 84-42 loss at Grand Valley State.
The Dragons came out cold from the field, shooting just 20 percent in the opening quarter as the Lakers exploded for a big 22-6 advantage.
While Tififn improved slightly in the second quarter from the field, the Lakers maintained their 50 percent field goal shooting. They took a 39-17 lead into the halftime break.
Tiffin had its best quarter in the third period, shooting 63 percent but GVSU hit at a 75 percent clip and expanded their lead with a 24-17 scoring edge.Â
The Dragons committed 24 turnovers leading to 28 GVSU points while the Lakers also dominated inside with a 46-16 scoring edge and a 37-23 rebounding advantage.
Overall
Presley Feltner was the lone Dragons player in double figures with 12 points along with a team-high 5 rebounds.
Catara Dejarnette and
Kirsten Williams also had 8 points each.
