Tiffin University (3-7) traveled to Davenport for a non-conference matchup, falling after a tough fourth quarter 57-47.
The Dragons shot 46 percent in the first half, winning the first quarter 16-13 and holding on to a 26-24 lead at halftime. The Dragons continued to keep the game close, as both teams combined for 13 lead changes.
With 4:43 remaining in the game, TU trailed just 49-47. The Dragons, though, could not manage another point for the rest of the game, as Davenport finished on an 8-0 run to put the game away. Tiffin shot just 16 percent from the floor in the final quarter as DU outscored them 12-4.
The Panthers went 4 for 6 from the line over that stretch and overall held a commanding 12-1 edge at the charity stripe. While Davenport connected on only 12 of 23 shots, they made 19 more trips to the line than TU.
Davenport also controlled the paint, holding a 32-22 edge inside. They also had a 13-9 edge in points off turnovers, with TU committing 21 miscues.
Kirsten Williams had a strong game, posting a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Presley Feltner also had 10 points with 5 rebounds.
Savanah Richards had 7 points while
Riley Irwin and
Catara Dejarnette both had 6 points.
