TU pulls even in conference with 65-55 win

Tiffin University (3-6, 2-2 G-MAC) pulled even in conference play with a 65-55 win at Cedarville.

The Dragons had some of their strongest shooting of the season, connecting at a 58 percent clip for the game. They never trailed in the game.

Tiffin opened on fire in the first quarter, jumping out to an 18-4 lead to set the tone early. They continued the trend in the second quarter, going on a 17-7 run late that pushed their lead to 20 points. They won the second quarter by a 22-9 margin and entered the halftime locker room with a 40-19 lead.

Cedarville made a run in the fourth quarter to challenge TU's lead. The Yellow Jackets exploded for an 18-5 run that pulled them to within 4 points at 53-49 with 3:58 left in the game.

Tiffin refused to fold, responding with an 11-2 run over the next 3:00 to push their lead to 13 points with 31 seconds left and end the game.

The Dragons not only shot 58 percent from the floor but also 50 percent (8 of 16) from three point. They controlled the paint, outscoring Cedarville 36-20.

Presley Feltner led the Dragons with 15 points and 6 rebounds, while Kirsten Williams had 13 points and 4 assists. Savanah Richards also reached double figures with 10 points and 5 assists.

Tomi Hinkle had 9 points, while Grace Craig and Catara Dejarnette finished with 8 points each. Dejarnette led the Dragons with 6 assists along with 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
