LEXINGTON, Ohio - Tiffin men's tennis came up short in a regional battle on Wednesday, falling to McKendree 5-2 at the Lakewood Racquet Club.

Nikita Parfenov/Michael Gurtner got things started well for the Dragons, winning No. 1 singles 6-1, but neither of the other TU doubles pairs claimed a victory as the Bearcats took the doubles point.

Tiffin did not fare much better in singles play, taking two of six matches with victories at No. 3 and No. 4. Hugo Chatras took a 6-3, 6-3 victory from the third position, followed by Matthew Telford earning a 6-4, 6-2 win in the fourth spot.

Parfenov was able to take his No. 1 singles opponent to three sets, but fell 6-4 in the final frame.

Tiffin looks to get back on track with their first true home match of the spring season on Saturday as they host Lake Superior State in the Heminger Center.
