TU takes down Eagles 9-0

For the 3rd time this weekend Tiffin University has defeated Ashland in athletics. Tiffin University Women's Tennis traveled to Ashland to take on the Eagles in a tennis match Sunday afternoon. TU took care of business leaving Ashland with a 9-0 victory.

TU started off strong with a straight sweep in doubles with the closest match being 8-3 at 3rd doubles. Nelhage and Kaye continued to show why they are one of the top teams in the GLIAC with an 8-1 victory at 1st doubles. 2nd doubles showed improvement as Musina and Sim took care of business with an 8-0 victory over Allison Brooks/Kaitlin Snider. Avram and Brozovich finished off the doubles sweep with an 8-3 victory at 3rd doubles to give the dragons a 3-0 lead heading into singles.

TU continued their strong play with quick sets across the board to get home early. Nelhage showed once again why she is a force to be reckoned with as she dismantled Meghann Fitzpatrick 6-3, 6-0. Musina cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Brianna Brdick. Not to be out done, her doubles partner, Emily Sim took a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Natalie Keron. Bianca Avram was the only Dragon to not drop a game in her singles match as she won 6-0, 6-0 against Allison Brooks. Aimee Kaye defeated Kaitlin Snider 6-1, 6-0 at 5th singles and Andrea Alaniz finished off the TU singles sweep with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Elizabeth Kidd at 6th singles.

TU improves to 7-1 on the season and 5-1 in the GLIAC. The Dragons will travel to a tough Grand Valley team on October 8th before taking on Ferris State on the 9th on their way home.
