The Tiffin University volleyball team wrapped up its Texas road trip on Saturday, but the end results weren't what the Dragons were looking for. The Dragons fell to Southern Nazarene University 3-1 and to Missouri S&T 3-0.
The Dragons took to the floor first against the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene. Tiffin fell behind early, losing the 1st set 25-18, but rebounded to take set two 26-24. After that the Storm proved too much for the Dragons to navigate as they were defeated 25-16 in the 3rd set and 25-19 in the 4th and final set.
Olivia Cobb had another great game for the Dragons, swatting 19 kills and collecting 10 digs. Amanda Curry continued her dominance at the net, smashing 12 kills, and Kasey Adelsperger added nine kills and two blocks. Emily Weithman had a season high 46 assists, while Taylor Lattimore played solid defense with 28 digs.
The final contest of the weekend featured the Dragons up against the Missouri S&T Miners. The Dragons were dispatched in a little over an hour, falling 25-19, 25-13, and 25-12. Amanda Curry led the way for the Dragons with eight kills, Alexandria Miglin added five kills and two blocks, and Kasey Adelsperger chipped in with four kills. Emily Weithman dished out 25 assists, and Taylor Lattimore led the way defensively with nine digs.
The Dragons fall to 1-3 overall. They will head home and regroup before their home opener on September 15, against Glenville State.
