Tiffin University (4-2-2, 2-2 GLIAC) suffered a GLIAC setback on the road at Northwood, as a tie game at the half turned on a second half penalty kick as TU fell 2-1.
The deciding goal came in the 49th minute, as Northwood knocked home a penalty kick to take a 2-1 lead. The Dragons managed two shots on goal over the final 30 minutes but Northwood's Johannes Sterobo made saves on both shots.
Northwood took a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute, taking advantage of a TU turnover to dribble around TU goalkeeper Kyle Karagitz to score. The Dragons answered quickly, as Oliver Verdult headed home a free kick from Andre Landell to tie the score 1-1 at the half.
Overall Northwood led in shots 13-11 while shots on goal were even at 5-5. Karagitz took the tough loss, making 3 saves in 90 minutes.
