Tiffin University (3-0-1, 1-0 GLIAC) got things off on the right foot in conference play, playing strong defense in posting their third consecutive shutout in their GLIAC opener in a 2-0 win over visiting Findlay at Paradiso Fields.
The game was scoreless at the half but the Dragons controlled most of the tempo and eventually posted two second half goals, both involving Andre Carvalho-Landell.
Oliver Verdult buried a rebound off a Landell shot into the back of the net in the 49th minute to put TU on the board. Landell then took an Ian Jacobs pass and gave TU an insurance goal in the 72nd minute to effectively put the game away.
TU's defense did its job, as TU outshot Findlay 18-7 and allowed just 2 shots on goal and 1 corner kick. Kyle Karagitz got the win in goal for TU with his 3rd shutout. He also made 2 saves.
