The Tiffin University women's soccer team took more shots, and had more shots on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net as they fell 3-0 to the Michigan Tech Huskies.
Michigan Tech got on the board early, scoring in 3:49, as they dribbled around the Dragon defense to buzz a shot by the diving Dragon keeper. The Huskies added another goal in the 40th minute, lobbing a shot over Samantha Ortenzi to take a 2-0 advantage. The Dragons rattled off seven shots in the half, but only three were on goal.
In the 2nd half, the Dragons kept firing shots, but kept coming up empty. They sent 11 shots to the goal, but were unable to find pay dirt. The Huskies took only five shots in the half, but they were efficient, notching another goal in the 83rd minute to take the 3-0 advantage.
For Tiffin, Adrianna Currie took six shots, with four coming on goal, Allison McCabe sent forth four shots, but couldn't sneak one past the Tech keeper. Samantha Ortenzi took the loss in goal, facing six shots, saving three.
The loss drops Tiffin to 2-7-1 overall and 0-6 in the GLIAC. Tiffin will be back at home this Sunday, as they host the Northern Michigan University Wildcats at 12:00 p.m..
