A wild and hard-fought game between Tiffin University and Northwood on Senior Day resulted in a 2-2 double overtime tie. The Dragons finish their home season with an 8-6-3 record, 6-6-1 in the GLIAC.
After a scoreless first half, the Dragons came to life in the second half. Michael Bottomley took a cross from Andre Landell's free kick and struck gold in the 54th minute to give TU the lead.
The Dragons then got an insurance goal in the 74th minute when Karl Jones made a sliding kick on Austin Combs's pass to slide it inside the right post for a 2-0 lead. But an excessive celebration after the goal resulted in a red card, causing the Dragons to play a man down for the remainder of regulation.
Northwood made the most of it, finally getting on the board in the 86th minute on a penalty kick by Keaton Levock.
With the Dragons clinging to the slim lead and the clock winding down, Northwood took one last shot. Zachary Bakos's shot rebounded out to Connor Cole, who snuck it past TU goalkeeper Kyle Karagitz with 17 seconds remaining in the game. The score sent the game to overtime.
In the overtime periods, TU got one shot on goal while Northwood had 4 shots on goal, including 3 in the second overtime, but Karagitz made the stops to preserve the tie.
