The Tiffin University Dragons Women's Volleyball team hosted #14 Ferris State on Friday night. The Dragons came into the game hoping to snap their three-game losing streak. Ferris State had other plans as the Bulldogs came away with a quick three-set victory, to push Tiffin's losing streak to four.
The Bulldogs started out well, hitting a staggering .424 in the first set. They ended up taking the set by a score of 25-17. The second set was more of the same as the Bulldogs defeated the Dragons 25-19. In the third and final set, Ferris State hit .364 and won 25-14.
Leading the Dragons was Lu Phillips, who had 10 kills and six digs. Ally Kohlhase and Chelsea Stockmeyer each recorded four kills as well. Tiffany Buchinger had 21 assists for Tiffin, while Taylor Lattimore chipped in with 16 digs. Lattimore was also the only Dragon to record a service ace. Stockmeyer added two blocks for Tiffin.
Tiffin falls to 4-5, 2-4 (GLIAC) and Ferris State improves to 7-3, 5-1 (GLIAC). The Dragons will have a quick chance to turn around and redeem themselves on Saturday at noon as they host the Grand Valley State Lakers. The Lakers are ranked 18th in the nation and are carrying a 7-2, 5-0 (GLIAC) record.
