Tiffin University (9-2-1, 8-2 GLIAC) had little trouble with Malone, blasting past the Pioneers with an overwhelming effort 8-0.
The Dragons outshot Malone 38-6, including 23-3 in the first half. A total of 23 shots were on goal for TU, as they tallied four goals in each half. Jeremy Ashley got the win in goal, posting the shutout while making 4 saves.
TU opened scoring in the 9th minute when Michael McPeek scored the first of 3 goals on the day off a cross from Smart Osadolor. Another goal less than a minute later when Calin Vadana took a corner kick from Andre Landell and made it 2-0.
Cedric Bruce-Kotey took another pass from Landell and struck it home in the 16th minute, while McPeek got his second goal of the day in the 33rd minute on a breakaway goal.
TU resumed scoring in the second half when McPeek took a through ball from Daniel Fallon and recorded the hat trick. McPeek got an assist on the next goal, carrying the ball in the box and striking over to Bruce-Kotey in the 51st minute for his second goal of the day.
TU's final two goals came late in the game. Colin Edwards took a pass from Bruce-Kotey and maneuvered around the defender before putting it far post in the 77th minute, while Michael Smithers took Tito Hammed's cross and buried it in the 86th minute.
