CLEARWATER, Fla. - Senior KC Weber had four hits and freshman Jordan Widman had three hits as the Tiffin University baseball team (3-5) swept Ohio Valley (2-4) 10-2 and 7-1 at the Clearwater Invitational, Sunday afternoon at Jack Russell Stadium.
In game one, Weber had a strong performance with four hits, a triple, drove in two runs and scored three runs. Sophomore Nick Calandra had a double and a triple, scored a run and drove in two runs while sophomore Nick Hueneburg had two hits. Senior Eric Klepper (1-2) went the distance giving up seven hits, two runs and striking out four batters in seven innings.
In the nightcap, Widman led the attack with two hits in four at-bats. Hueneburg drove in two runs and senior Brock Mitchell scored two runs and stole a base. Senior Nick Rodesky (1-0) gave up four hits, one run and struck out four in five innings.
Tiffin remains in Florida, taking on Kentucky Wesleyan in a doubleheader, Monday, March 11. The games are scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
