TIFFIN, Ohio - Despite a school record performance by junior Hayley Coppola, the Tiffin University women's soccer team (1-7-1, 1-3-1 GLIAC) lost 3-2 to Michigan Tech (6-2-1, 3-0-1 GLIAC), Sunday afternoon at Paradiso Fields.
At the 17:40 mark, senior Lauren Bowyer threaded a pass through traffic to freshman Allison Bondi. She put the ball into the left side to make it 1-0. Nine minutes later, Lexi Herrewig scored off a rebound to make it 1-1.
Just a little over two minutes into the second half, junior Giulianne Domingues served up a corner kick that junior Drew Plummer headed in. Starting at the 67:19 mark, the Huskies scored twice in the next two minutes to pull off the win.
Tiffin had 11 shots, four on goal, three corner kicks and was called for eight fouls. Coppola had 19 saves, breaking the school record of 17 she set last year against Grand Valley State.
Michigan Tech had 31 shots, 22 on goal, 12 corner kicks and was called for 16 fouls.
