No matter the obstacle, Tiffin University's men's soccer team (7-1-1, 5-1-1 GLIAC) seems to find a way over it.
Despite getting outshot 18-9, despite playing a man down for nearly 70 minutes due to a red card, and despite a 10-2 disadvantage in corner kicks, the 25th-ranked Dragons nipped Northwood 1-0 for their seventh victory of the season.
How did the Dragons win? By not panicking and staying persistent in their second half attack. After getting outshot 9-0 in the opening half as Northwood had the wind at their backs, the Dragons broke even with Northwood 9-9 in second half shots. Karl Jones got the gamewinner in the 77th minute when he took a rebound of his own shot off of Johannes Sterobo's hands and buried it in the right corner.
Tiffin kept up the attack, just missing another couple shots late in the second half by Smart Osadolor. The defense also stepped up, allowing only 6 shots on goal. Jeremy Ashley got the win in goal, making 6 saves over 90 minutes in the shutout.
