Tiffin University (1-3-1, 0-3 GLIAC) has not found the going so good in its 2012 GLIAC season.
A difficult beginning for the Dragons got a little tougher as they dropped a hard fought 2-1 double overtime decision to Walsh in their home opener. It follows two other close losses at Ashand and Northwood and puts TU in an 0-3 hole in conference play early in the 2012 season.
The game looked solid for TU in the early going, as Michael McPeek took a pass from Jon O'Brien and made the score 1-0, TU in the 16th minute.
TU held a 1-0 lead at the half, but the Cavaliers equalized in the 54th minute on an unassisted goal from Kain Melville. The Dragons had four more shots in regulation, including some free kicks in front of the Cavaliers goal, but could not knock any home as the game went to overtime.
The Dragons had five more shots in the two overtime periods but failed to end the game. In the 108th minute, Matt Bly took a rebound off a shot by Juan Amaya and buried it into the net to give Walsh the win.
Jeremy Ashley took the loss in goal, making 6 saves in 108 minutes. Tiffin outshot Walsh 19-10 in the game.
