Tiffin University's Malaika Messi picked up a couple match victories but it wasn't enough as TU fell in a close GLIAC match at Ashland 6-3 in their season opener.

Messi won at first singles 6-2, 6-0 and also teamed with Taylor Cooper at first doubles to win 8-4, while Anna Scherting also won in her Dragons debut at third singles 7-5, 6-1.

But TU dropped the other singles matches in straight sets. Scherting/Chelsea Beck fell at second doubles 3-8, while Nicole Ardner/Cassie Dye lost at third doubles 2-8.
