Tiffin University came back from two deficits against first-place Ohio Dominican, managing to salvage a 2-2 double overtime tie in a game that ended with little light left at Paradiso Fields. The Dragons' record stands at 6-4-2, 3-3-2 GLIAC while the Panthers move to 5-4-3, 4-2-3.
ODU got on the board right before halftime, tallying a goal in the 43rd minute to take a 1-0 halftime advantage.
The Dragons answered almost immediately in the second half, as Ashton Campbell came off the bench and drilled home a shot off a pass from Nick Kutch into the left corner to tie the score 1-1.
ODU answered in the 61st minute on a rocket from Andrew Edler into the upper left 90. The Dragons forced the overtime when Pierre De Pauw took Michael O'Neill's corner kick and knocked it into the net in the 66th minute.
Both teams battled back and forth for the remainder of regulation and through two overtime periods. ODU had a point blank chance in front of goalkeeper Jeremy Ashley late in the first overtime, but Ashley made a sensational save to keep TU alive.
TU had its own last second chance, when Edison Benda took a pass from Campbell in front of the net and struck the ball towards the net. But the kick was not solid, allowing goalkeeper Andrew Jones to reach up and stop the shot in the 107th minute.
Overall Ashley made 13 saves in 110 minutes, while Jones had 4 saves. ODU held a narrow 24-23 shot edge.
