Anna is the daughter of Steve and Deb Smalley. She is majoring in Business. She has one sibling, a sister that is also a member of the volleyball team.

Anna is a graduate of Carey High School. While attending, she finished top-10 in her class and maintained straight a's from 2014 to 2017.
