Biography

2018-19:

Schmalz played in 21 games in his senior season, starting one, and averaged 7.6 points per game while shooting 44.9% from the field and 38.4% from beyond the arc. The senior also averaged 3.9 rebounds per game and 0.5 assists per game. Schmalz tallied a season-high 20 points with six made triples in a win over Davis & Elkins on 1/17. He also made at least one three-pointer in each of Tiffin's last 12 contests.

2017-18:

Schmalz saw action in 11 games for the Dragons. He made three triples and scored a season-high nine points on 11/12 at Lake Erie.

2016-17:

Schmalz saw action in nine games for Tiffin, grabbing five rebounds and scoring eight points.

2015-16:

Hunter played in 14 games, averaging 4.9 minutes and 1.1 points per game.

Personal:

Hunter is the son of Karl and Betsy Schmalz. He has one sibling, a sister named Calley. Schmalz intends to major in Business.

High School:

Hunter graduated from Grandview Heights High School. While attending, he was an All-Ohio 3rd team selection, and the team MVP.
