Biography

2018-19: 

Adams concluded his career with another fantastic season for the Dragons, starting in all 28 games and averaging 14.8 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per game, marks that were both second on the team. He also shot 52.7% from the field, 41.4% from deep, averaged 2.0 assists per game, and tallied 1.2 steals per contest. In the GMAC, he was 17th in points per game, 10th in rebounds per game, 4th in field goal percentage, and 6th in three-point percentage. The mark of 41.4% from deep was also sixth all-time in a single season at TU. Adams recorded a season-high 29 points twice, first against Purdue Northwest on 11/24 and again in the final game of the season at Davis & Elkins on 3/2. The senior scored in double figures in all but eight games, and grabbed 10 or more rebounds five times, including a huge 21-point, 17-rebound performance at Trevecca Nazarene on 2/7. Adams was named Second Team All-GMAC for his efforts, the third-straight year he received all-conference honors. After his three seasons with the Dragons, Adams finishes his career eighth in field goal percentage (54.4), 10th in rebounds (632), and 19th in points (1,214).

2017-18:

Adams had another exceptional year in a Dragon uniform, starting 26 games and finishing second on the team with 12.9 points per game. He also led the team with 8.0 rebounds per game and dished out 2.3 assists per contest. He scored in double figures in 18 of 26 games and recorded six double-doubles. He scored 29 points and grabbed 11 boards in a win over Kentucky State (11/21) and finished the year with a 19-point, 15-rebound output against Saginaw Valley (2/24). For his efforts, Adams was named Second Team All-GLIAC.

2016-17:

Adams was a dominant force for Tiffin in his first season with the Dragons, leading the team in points per game (15.3), total rebounds (227), rebounds per game (8.1), and field goal percentage (60.1%). Adams pulled down eight or more rebounds in 13 games, and scored 10 or more points in 21 of Tiffin's 28 games. Austin led Tiffin with seven double-doubles, and is the first Dragon to ever score at least 30 points and grab 20 rebounds in a game, doing so against Ohio Dominican with 31 points and 20 rebounds on January 14. In the GLIAC, Adams finished 6th in field goal percentage, 3rd in offensive rebounds, 7th in defensive rebounds, 3rd in rebounds per game, and 12th in steals.

Personal:

Austin is a native of Oregon, Ohio and is the son of David and Brooke Adams.

High School:

Austin graduated from Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School. While attending, he became the all-time leading scorer with 1,699 points and scored the most points in a game (44). Adams was also a 3-time 1st team all-league selection, 2-time 1st team district VII, and Honorable mention all-state. Austin was named District VII all-star MVP and dunk contest champion, Ohio vs. Indiana dunk champion, North/South all-star game participant, and took high school team to regional tournament for the first time in 28 years and the best record in school history 19-6.
