Nichols appeared in 12 games and started 10. He finished the season with a 4-6 record and a 5.22 ERA in 58 2/3 innings pitched. Tyler struck out 39 batters and walked 21.
2014:
Appeared in 13 games, starting 5. Nichols, in a word, was dominant. He would pitch 48 1/3 innings, surrendering 39 hits, 18 runs, 11 earned runs, 9 walks, and struck out 30. The southpaw made it tough on opposing teams, as hitters would only manage a .217 batting average against. His 2.05 ERA was the lowest on the team, and his 2 shutouts were tops on the team. For his performances on the diamond, Nichols garnered 2nd team All-GLIAC honors.
2013:
Made his collegiate debut versus Findlay (March 22).
Medina Buckeye High School:
Was a two-time All-Patriot Athletic Conference second team selection ... All-Medina County first team as a senior ... That senior year, drove in 20 runs and batted .409 and was 5-3 with a 2.63 ERA.
