The Tiffin University baseball team (15-31, 10-18 G-MAC) dropped the final game of the series on Sunday to Hillsdale 5-2.
After winning game one, the Dragons dropped the next three to lose a critical North Division series.
Tiffin has slim G-MAC Tournament hopes remaining but must sweep Lake Erie in all four games next weekend to have a chance.
Adam Deitschel broke a 0-0 tie in the third with a two-out, two-run double to put the Dragons up 2-0 and Hillsdale put one up on the board in the fourth.
With the score 2-1 in the fifth, the Chargers plated four in the inning and Dominic Elia surrendered a back-breaking three-run home run in the inning which shifted momentum to Hillsdale.
The Dragons brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth. With two outs, Brock Polilli walked and Michael Patellis was hit by a pitch but Jayden Leach flied out to center to end the game.
After earning the save in the first game of the series, Elia took the loss in this one and dropped to 3-4. Elia allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits while striking out two in 3.0 innings of work.
Mason Brunecz started and pitched 2.0 scoreless innings. Austin Guerra, Luke Mager, and Dylan Kaiser each pitched a scoreless inning.\
TU only accumulated three hits in the game. Deitschel, Griff Cady, and Patellis recorded one hit each.
