Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

No. 16 Dragons Record Scoreless Draw Against Lake Erie

TIFFIN, Ohio – the 16th-ranked Tiffin University men's soccer team was unable to capitalize on early scoring opportunities and had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Lake Erie on Saturday afternoon at the Paradiso Athletic Complex.

Tiffin (6-1-4, 5-0-2 G-MAC) posted seven corner kicks and six shots in the first 15 minutes but came up empty. The best chance came in the seventh minute when Laurent Kenmoe's header forced Lake Erie's goalkeeper to make a leaping save. TU got two more good looks off corners but shot attempts from Freddie Oliver and Sam Brittain both sailed high.

After starting strong, scoring chances were limited the rest of the way for the Dragons, and Tiffin's strong defense did not allow the Storm (5-4-3, 4-2-2) to generate much offensively in the game.

Defenses were the story of the second half with both teams recording two shots. Lake Erie put shots on goal in the 72nd and 89th minute, their only two shot attempts of the game and Nick Cherry made the stops in goal both times. Tiffin was unable to generate good looks offensively in the second half. The best chance and only shot on goal came in the 83rd minute on a free kick by Josh Manu near midfield that forced the Storm's keeper to make a save.

Cherry went the distance in goal and made two saves and Brittain led the way offensively with three shots.

Tiffin outshot Lake Erie 11-2 and both teams put two shots on goal. Corners were aplenty in this one with the Dragons earning a slim 9-7 advantage.

Next up for the Dragons will be a trip to Kentucky to take on Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday, October 8 at 8:30 p.m. (7:30 central).
