SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Tiffin University men's cross country team continued its impressive 2026 campaign on Friday, claiming the team championship in the Men's Gold 8K race at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. The Dragons totaled 120 points to finish ahead of Western Ontario (152) and Marquette (164) in a field featuring 21 scoring teams.
Tiffin showcased its trademark depth with all five scoring runners finishing among the top 50 competitors.
Fifth year
Isaac Houghton paced the Dragons with a seventh-place finish, crossing the line in 24:15.8.
Liam Stone continued his strong season with a 10th-place effort in 24:22.2, while
Gauthier Simon followed closely in 20th place with a time of 24:32.7.
Lilo Dalibon gave Tiffin four runners inside the top 40, placing 37th in 24:48.9, while freshman
Nathan Eminian rounded out the scoring five with a 46th-place finish in 24:54.1.
The Dragons also received strong performances from senior
Ashton Vent, who finished 54th in 25:04.5, and
Gabe Douce, who crossed in 83rd place with a time of 25:24.3.
Erwan Rostan (25:33.6),
Archie Lawson (25:38.2), and redshirt junior
Scott Temple (26:01.5) completed the Tiffin contingent.
The victory marked another significant result for the Dragons, who were ranked No. 7 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Regional Coaches Rankings and are receiving votes in the National Poll.
Tiffin returns to action on Saturday, October 10 competing in the Lucian Rosa Invitational in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The meet will begin at 12 p.m. (11 a.m. CT).
