Tiffin University (9-9, 4-7 G-MAC) led most of the way in its conference matchup with Walsh, but a 25-16 scoring edge for the Cavaliers in the final quarter cost the Dragons as they fell 67-61.
Walsh shot 64 percent in the final quarter, exploiting the post in the game for a 42-20 scoring advantage while also outrebounding TU 40-32.
Tiffin led 31-27 at the half and led by as much as 9 points early in the second half. Costly turnovers kept Walsh in the game, though, as Tiffin had 23 miscues.
A three-pointer by
Hailey Unger with 1:19 to play brought Tiffin to within 62-61 but Walsh immediately responded with a triple of their own and added two free throws for the winning margin.
Unger led the Dragons with 18 points and 4 rebounds including 5 for 7 from three-point, while
Megan Campbell also had 11 points with 8 rebounds.
Myka Richardson and
Isabelle Niederst both had 7 points, with Niederst also getting 6 assists.
Garyana Overton and
Peyton Magee also had 6 points each.
