Dragons fall at nationally ranked Ashland to open conference play

The Tiffin University women's soccer team (1-2-1, 0-1-0 G-MAC) opened conference play on the road Thursday night with a 7-0 loss against 21st-ranked Ashland.  

The seven goals allowed were the most allowed in a game since a 7-1 loss to Cedarville on October 1, 2022.  

Ashland blitzed the Dragons early, scoring five goals in the first 20 minutes. Ashland scored their first in the third minute and scored their third, fourth, and fifth goals in a 6:40 span.  

The Eagles led 5-0 at halftime and that remained the score until Ashland found success again in the 66th minute. Ashland scored twice in the second half with the seventh and final goal coming in the 87th minute.  

Ashland held a 19-2 shot advantage and Dani Garner had both of Tiffin's shot attempts. The Eagles also had the advantage in shots on goal (14-1) and corner kicks (7-1).  

Garner's first shot attempt came in the 21st minute and the second shot didn't come until the 80th minute.  

Sam McPhee started in goal and took the loss, playing 14:09 minutes. McPhee allowed four goals and made two saves. Aubree Lee made her season debut, playing the final 75:51 making five saves and allowing three goals. 

The Dragons have a quick turnaround with another road game at Malone set for Saturday at 1pm. Malone lost 1-0 at Thomas More this evening.
