Tiffin University men's track and field is off to a good start at the G-MAC Outdoor Championships as day two of the three-day event wrapped up on Thursday.
The Dragons are currently in second place with 60 points and Findlay is leading the way with 80. Ashland is third with 53 points.
Day one (Wednesday) notable results:
Louis Ginane earned a second-place podium finish, running the 10,000 meter run in 30:55.73. Thomas Nelson earned a podium spot finishing third in the hammer throw with a mark of 59.88 meters (196' 5").
Jacob Goudy recorded a personal best mark of 49.99 meters (164' 0") in the javelin throw and earned a third-place podium finish.
Day two (Thursday) notable results:
Tiffin accumulated 12 total points in the decathlon. Camron Ventura placed third, Davis Reinhard was fourth, and Johnny Howard finished eighth. Those three combined to give TU the 12 points towards their team total.
Pieter Wise accumulated four points with a fifth-place finish in the high jump recording a mark of 1.97 meters.
In the shot put, Kevin Hornbeak placed third and Brock Carlson finished fourth. Hornbeak recorded a mark of 17.38 meters and Carlson had a mark of 16.98 meters. Ethan Lyon finished seventh with a mark of 16.30 meters. The trio combined for 13 points.
Dalton Gleeson finished second in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 9:00.48. The second-place finish gave the Dragons eight team points.
Other events taking place on Thursday were the prelims of the running events.
The third and final day of the Championships begin at 11:30am on Friday.
