Five Tiffin University women's wrestling standouts competed at the NCWWC National Championships in Coralville, Iowa.
None of the Dragons were able to make it to the second day of competition.
Juliana Alejandro (103 pounds) was pinned by King in 1:21 in her first match but bounced back with a pinfall victory in 1:35 over West Liberty in her next bout. She then fell by pin in 4:23 to North Central College.
At 110 pounds,
Grace Jones opened with a pin in 1:20 over East Stroudsburg but then lost to King by fall in 2:43. Her day ended with a 15-5 loss to Quincy.
Erin Martin (180) also got a win during the event. After falling to Simon Fraser by fall in 22 seconds, she defeated Western New England 8-4. Presbyterian then knocked Martin out by tech fall 13-0.
Sienna Sanborn (124) fell to Sacred Heart 10-0 and Albion 13-3, while
Ciara Riner (131) lost to Aurora by fall in 58 seconds and to Wartburg 14-3.
