All four of Tiffin University's national qualifiers will advance to day two of the NCAA Division II Men's Wrestling National Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Anthony Aniciete (125 pounds) is the sole TU wrestler left in the championship bracket as he heads to the semifinals. He had two wins, defeating Indianapolis 9-2 and Colorado Mesa 10-5.Â
Max Shore (133) opened with a big tech fall 16-1 win over Gannon before getting pinned in 2:45 by Central Oklahoma. He then stayed alive with a 10-6 win over Lake Erie.
At 157 pounds,
Casey Barnett fell in 4:29 to Minnesota State but then won two in a row, defeating Seton Hill by pin in 1:45 and Glenville State by fall in 2:09.
Finally, at 165 pounds,
Nolan Gessler opened with a 8-4 win over San Francisco State but then fell to Wisconsin-Parkside in sudden victory 5-2. He bounced back with a 9-7 win over New Mexico Highlands.
The championships will conclude on March 15.
