Tiffin University (8-17, 3-14 G-MAC) played one of its strongest games of the year, leading for nearly the entire game before falling in the closing minutes 69-63 to 8th-ranked Ashland.
The Dragons came out of the gate strong, shooting 53 percent from the floor while holding Ashland to 35 percent shooting in the opening quarter. Tiffin held to a narrow 19-17 lead after one period.
The Eagles continued to struggle from the field, shooting just 33 percent in the second quarter while Tiffin stayed steady at 46 percent. The Dragons built to as much as a 12-point lead in the period, eventually heading to halftime with a 37-29 lead.
The Dragons continued with another strong run in the third quarter, connecting on 55 percent of its shots while Ashland dropped down to 29 percent. Tiffin led by 14 with 3:49 left in the period.
Ashland rallied at that point, racing to a 16-5 margin over the next 6:00 to climb to within 54-51 at the 7:47 mark of the fourth quarter.
Tiffin continued to cling to the lead until Ashland buried a three-pointer with 2:52 to play to take a 63-61 lead. Ashland never trailed again, as TU missed a couple shots inside the final minute in taking the tough loss.
Overall Tiffin outshot Ashland 46 to 38 percent while the Eagles narrowly outrebounded TU 36-31. The Eagles also committed just 9 turnovers.

Megan Campbell, who tallied 23 points with 9 rebounds.
Grace Craig also just missed a double-double with 8 points and 10 rebounds.
Lyv Lindeman had 12 points and 5 rebounds while
Isabelle Niederst added 8 points.Â
