Tiffin University men's and women's track and field had a busy weekend, with athletes competing in Michigan, Massachusetts, and Ohio. The weekend ended with the Dragons hosting their final home meet of indoor season at the Heminger Center on Saturday. One school record fell during the weekend and that was the women's 4x400 relay team at Friday's GVSU meet.
On Friday in Boston, Mass., Lewis Cotterill and Talel Khalfi competed at Boston University. Cotterill ran the 800 meter run in 1:53.02 while Khalfi recorded a personal best time of 8:01.00 in the 3000 meter run.
At the Grand Valley State Big Meet on Friday, Ashton Vent placed third in the 5000 run with a time of 15:38.28.
On the women's side at GVSU, C'airra Carter won the high jump with a mark of 1.63 meters. The 4x400 relay team of Cassandra Uribe, Caliyah Wallace, Nevaeh Lewis, and Liana Rodriguez broke the school record and placed second in the event with a time of 3:43.85.
At the Robinson Family open in the Heminger Center on Saturday, Joshua Page was the 400 meter run champion with a time of 48.15 seconds. Kameron Walker placed third in the 200 meter run with a time of 22.54 seconds. Ariel Clark recorded a personal best in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.42 seconds.
William Marks set a personal best in the mile, placing 9th with a time of 4:41.47. Octavious Joe was the 60 meter hurdle champion with a time of 8.42 seconds. Cameron Garcia placed second in the long jump with a personal best mark of 6.49 meters (21' 3.5"). Myles Sams was the triple jump champ. Maurice Norvell set a new personal best in the shot put with a mark of 12.94 meters 42' 5.5").
On the women's side at the Heminger Center, Nevaeh Lewis was the 60 meter dash champion, finishing in 7.59 seconds. Caliyah Wallace set a new personal best in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.67 seconds. Alianna Lewis recorded personal bests in both the 200 and 400 meter dash. She placed second in the 400 with a time of 1:01.26.
Elizabeth Meeker recorded a personal best in the 200 with a time of 27.29 seconds. Caitlyn Pokorny placed second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:30.83. Kyla Garbe placed sixth in the 60 meter hurdles with a personal best time of 9.31 seconds. Garbe also recorded a personal best mark of 1.45 meters in the high jump. Moselle Punni won the triple jump with a personal best mark of 11.36 meters (37' 3.25"). Annie Karshner placed second in the shot put with a mark of 11.36 meters (37' 3.25"), a personal best.
At Saturday's GVSU Big Meet, Dalton Gleeson placed second in the mile with a time of 4:16.69. In the 5000 meter run, Louis Ginane recorded a personal best time of 14:41.39.
For the women at GVSU on Saturday, Greta Macadam placed 17th in the mile with a time of 5:15.07 and Caitlin Weitzel ran the 5000 for the first time and placed 18th with a time of 19:28.03.
