Tiffin University (4-2, 0-1 G-MAC) could not get on track shooting from the field, and Northwood took advantage inside to dispatch the Dragons 71-55 in their conference opener.
Tiffin shot just 31 percent for the game, with Northwood taking the first quarter 22-10 with TU shooting just 23 percent in the quarter. The Timberwolves cooled off from their 52 percent field goal percentage in the first quarter in the second 10 minute stretch, but still held a 39-25 halftime lead.
Northwood enjoyed another 24-15 scoring lead in the third quarter as it put the game away. The Timberwolves did most of their damage in the paint, outscoring TU 46-26 inside and outrebounding them 51-36.
Myka Richardson led TU off the bench with a strong 16 points and 10 rebounds, while
Hailey Unger was the only other Dragons player to reach double figures with 10 points and 5 rebounds.Â
Megan Campbell also had 9 points while
Isabelle Niederst had 6 points with 6 rebounds.
