Tiffin University (5-5, 1-3 G-MAC) used strong shooting from the floor to streak past Ursuline and grab its first conference victory, winning 77-49.
The Dragons came out breathing fire, shooting 58 percent from the floor including 55 percent from three-point as it raced out to a 25-8 first quarter advantage.
Tiffin did not take its foot off the gas, shooting 53 percent in the second quarter to push their lead to 41-22 at halftime.Â
The Dragons used inside scoring to continue their assault in the third quarter, scorching the nets at a 62 percent clip and eventually pushing their lead to as much as 38 points midway through the final period.
Overall Tiffin shot 50 percent for the game and held a 42-24 scoring edge in the paint. They forced 21 Ursuline turnovers leading to 15 points.Â
Megan Campbell led the team with another strong all-around game, totaling 16 points with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
Hailey Unger had 15 points with 5 assists, while
Myka Richardson came off the bench for 13 points and 8 rebounds.
Tomi Hinkle added 8 points while
Garyana Overton and
Serenitee Johnson had 6 points apiece.
