Tiffin University (11-2-3, 10-1-2 G-MAC) secured a share of the G-MAC regular season championship with a 2-0 win at Thomas More.
The victory coupled with Cedarville's 1-1 tie against Ashland gives the Dragons a three-point lead with one game remaining. Tiffin can wrap up the title outright with at win in its regular season finale at Findlay on Nov. 4.
Tiffin posted another shutout victory, with goalkeeper
Nick Cherry and the Dragons' defense holding the Saints to just one shot on goal for the game. Overall Tiffin held a 10-3 shot edge and an 8-3 mark in corner kicks.
The win also marked Tiffin's 11 shutout of the season, just two behind the TU record of 13 set in 1987. Tiffin has also only allowed 7 goals all season, well ahead of the TU record mark of 14 goals allowed in 1986.
Callum Ellington got TU on the board in the 35th minute off a pass from
Tate Newman as Tiffin led 1-0 at halftime.
A big insurance goal came in the 64th minute when
Anelson Azard got an unassisted goal to put the game away.
