The Tiffin University men's basketball team (2-9, 0-3 G-MAC) opened 2025 with a 79-59 loss at #17 Findlay.
The game was tight early on that saw the Dragons take their first lead of the game 7-6 out of the first media timeout following a layup by Caleb Bates. With 10:11 remaining in the first half, a jump shot by Allen Fordham gave the Dragons a 19-17 lead and would not lead again.
Over the final 10:02 of the first half is when the game shifted in Findlay's favor with the Oilers outscoring Tiffin 22-4. A bucket by Jacob Pleiman tied the game at 21 and Tiffin would score just two points during the final 9:12 of the half and were scoreless for the final 6:43 that saw Findlay outscore the Dragons 12-0.
Two free throws by Michael Lucarotti 43 seconds into the second half ended the scoring drought. The free throws made it 37-25 and the Dragons were unable to get any closer the rest of the way. Findlay's biggest lead of the game was 25.
Tiffin attempted eight three-pointers and came up empty on all eight while Findlay converted just five of their 21 attempts.
10 Dragons saw playing time and all 10 got in the scoring column. Allen Fordham was the only one to finish in double figures with 12 while John Muhammad finished with nine and Lucarotti recorded eight. D'monyae Davis finished with seven points while Dekyre Fuller added six. Both Muhammad and Jonah Nesmith grabbed five rebounds.
The Dragons are back in action this Saturday, January 4 as they travel to Columbus to face Ohio Dominican.
