A rivalry matchup between the Oilers and Dragons (9-14, 4-5 G-MAC) produced lots of offense, but Tiffin came out on the losing end 14-8.
Â
Both sides came out swinging as there were 22 total runs on 28 total hits.
Â
It was a slow back-and-forth start as Findlay notched the first run of the game in the top half of the first before
Isaiah Mirabal brought home
Griff Cady for TU's first run of the game. The Oilers regained their one-run advantage the next inning, however, in the bottom of the third,
Andrew Fairbrother delivered a two-RBI single to swing it back in favor of the home side.
Â
Findlay plated two runs the next half inning and again the Dragons responded with two runs of their own thanks to
Connor Huzicka's single to left field, scoring both Mirabal and
Tommy Thamann.
Â
The Oilers tallied five runs in the fifth, jumping out to a four-run lead at 9-5. Tiffin was able to cut the deficit in half with two runs in the sixth, but that is as close as it came.
Â
Fairbrother ended the game 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a team-high three RBI's. Thamann also recorded two doubles and finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Leadoff-man
Griff Cady had a solid outing at the plate, going 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored while
Logan Swonger tallied the only home run of the game and his eighth of the year.
Â
The Dragons will now host Cedarville in a four-game series beginning with a doubleheader on Friday, March 29 at 1 p.m.
