The Tiffin University men's track and field team began the 2024-25 season this week by sending athletes to three different meets, the Hillsdale Mid-Week Multi, GVSU Holiday Open, and the Tiffin Alumni Meet which was hosted at the Heminger Center on the campus of Tiffin University.
Hillsdale meet highlights:
Camron Ventura recorded personal bests in the 60 meter dash, shot put, high jump, and pole vault. Ventura also earned four first-place finishes, leading the way in the 60 meter dash, long jump, shot put, and high jump. He paced the 60 meter group with a time of 7.14 seconds and paced the shot put group by a wide margin, recording a throw of 12.27m (40' 3.25").
Octavious Joe earned six personal bests but only recorded one first-place finish. The first-place finish came in the 60 meter hurdles while recording personal bests in the 60 meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, pole vault, and the 1,000 meter run. Joe placed second in the long jump with a mark of 6.24m (20' 5.75").
Davis Reinhard recorded a personal best in the pole vault with a mark of 4.35m (14' 3.25") which tied him for first place with Cornerstone's Isaac Bowden.
GVSU meet highlights:
Talel Khalfi competed in the 5,000 meter run for the first time and placed ninth with a time of 14:15.05. In the men's mile, Gabe Douce placed 22nd in 4:25.29. Also in the 5,000 meter run, Louis Ginane placed 21st with a time of 14:58.32.
Tiffin meet highlights:
Dylan Randall took home the 60 meter dash championship in 6.77 seconds. Joshua Page took first place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.56 seconds and recorded a personal best time of 6.79 seconds in the 60 meter dash.
Tesean Jefferson was the only Dragon to compete in the 300 meter run and finished first with a time of 38.32 seconds. Kameron Walker placed first in the 400 meter run with a time of 50.74 seconds and Brody Devlin came in second with 51.43.
Ariel Clark took first place in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.47 seconds. Garrett Hoepf and Johnny Howard finish first and second respectively in the high jump. Brock Carlson placed first in the shot put with a personal best throw of 16.71m (54' 10").
Thomas Nelson placed first in the weight throw while Ashton Vent took first in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 9:17.77.
