Tiffin University (1-1) held a second-half lead but could not stop Purdue Northwest's offense, falling 84-71.
The Dragons played well over the first half, shooting 14 for 31 from the floor and outscoring the Pride in both quarters to lead 36-32 at halftime.
Tiffin pushed its lead to 6 points early in the third quarter but the tide turned midway through the quarter with Tiffin leading 46-45. A 10-2 run by the Pride catapulted them to a 55-48 lead late in the quarter.
The Dragons pulled to within a bucket at 62-59 with 6:43 to play but again the Pride took off, streaking to a 13-3 run that pushed their lead to 12 points with 3:13 to play.Â
The biggest statistical edge for Purdue Northwest came from beyond the arc where they connected on twice as many three pointers as Tiffin (14-7). Overall the Pride shot 42 percent from three-point land while each team was around 47 percent from the floor.Â
Grace Craig had 13 points to lead the team along with 7 rebounds, while
Lyv Lindeman added 12 points and 5 rebounds.
Megan Campbell had 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, while
Tomi Hinkle had 9 and
Mahya Lindesmith added 8 points.
