The Dragons traveled to Springfield, Ohio to take part in the Wittenberg Steemer Showcase where they took first place out of a total 20 teams with 150.5 points.
Tiffin dominated the field, winning six events and taking the top three spots in two of them.
A strong showing in the 60-meter dash saw
Malachi Adams take top spot with an NCAA DII provisional time of 6.69 seconds. He was followed by
Dylan Randall in second place, also recording a provisional time of 6.79 seconds and
Kyron Rogers in third place with a time of 6.91.
Another top-three sweep came in the weight throw as
Jacob McPherson,
Vincent Volpe, and Thomas Nelson earned first, second, and third respectively. All posted provisional marks as McPherson finished first with a mark of 19.89m followed by Volpe (19.00m) and Nelson (18.42m).
Other provisional times were posted in the 60-meter hurdles as
Josiah Gadson took first place in 8.09 seconds. In the 800-meter,
Nathaniel Ondracek and
Lewis Cotterill recorded provisional times as Ondracek placed second in 1:51.66 followed closely by Cotterill in third with a time of 1:52.11. The triple jump was won by
Sheldon McNicholas who also tallied a provisional mark of 14.47m.
Donte Sol (21.72) and Joshua Page (21.80) took first and second place in the 200-meter to round out the scoring in the track events.
Finally, the shot put was won by McPherson with a provisional mark of 16.61m followed by
Kevin Hornbeak with 15.84m.
The Dragons will now head to both Ashland's Jud Logan Light Giver Open and Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational in one week's time.
