The Dragons hosted their second meet of the indoor season and made it a successful one, recording nine NCAA Division II Provisional marks.
In the 60-meter dash,
Dylan Randall took first place with a time of 6.77, just two tenths of a second ahead of
Donte Sol (6.79), both of which were provisional times.
Octavious Joe brought home first place in the 400-meter race in 52.99 seconds.
Tiffin took the top three spots in the 800-meter with
Talel Khalfi crossing the line first in 1:54.47, followed by
Lewis Cotterill (1:56.80) and
Nathaniel Ondracek (1:58.39).
Jaden Wimbush took top spot in the 1000-meter event, posting a time of 2:38.24. Finishing third was Joshua Bishop in 2:42.79.
Khalfi performed well in the mile, recording another first-place finish in 4:09.24, good for an NCAA DII Provisional as well as the fourth fastest time in all of Division II. He was followed by Ondracek (4:14.46) in second place and Wimbush (4:27.87) in third.
Josiah Gadson set another provisional time in the 60-meter hurdles, taking first place in 8.14 seconds with Joe (8.65) finishing second and
Davis Reinhard (8.75) taking third to round out the track performances.
In the field events,
Garrett Hoepf placed first in the high jump with a mark of 1.98m while
Pieter Wise took second with 1.83m.
Cade Carter took top spot while setting a provisional mark of 4.76m in the pole vault.
The long jump was won by
Sheldon McNicholas with a mark of 6.49m while in the triple jump,
Terrance Wilson and
Jake Price took first and second with marks of 13.04m and 12.55m respectively.
Kevin Hornbeak tallied a provisional mark of 16.94m to win the shot put event, followed by
Jacob McPherson in second with 15.79m. In the weight throw, Tiffin took the top three spots, all of which were provisional marks. McPherson placed first with a mark of 19.78m, with
Vincent Volpe (19.49m) coming in second and Thomas Nelson (18.71m) third.
Tiffin will now head to Allendale, Michigan for the GVSU Bill Clinger Classic on Friday, January 26.
