Tiffin University men's track and field traveled to Kent State University to take part in the Jud Logan Memorial for its first meet of 2024.
The Dragons performed well, recording six top three finishes and 11 top five finishes.
The only first place finish came in the mile event, courtesy of
Talel Khalfi who finished in 4:11.30, roughly five seconds ahead of teammate
Nathaniel Ondracek who placed second with a time of 4:16.73. Khalfi also recorded a second-place finish in the 800-meter event, finishing in 1:52.59.
In the 60-meter dash,
Donte Sol placed second in 6.77 seconds followed by
Dylan Randall in fourth place in 6.85 seconds, both of which were NCAA DII Provisionals.
Another podium finish came in the 3000-meter race as Joshua Bishop finished in 8:48.96, good for second place. In the long jump,
Josiah Gadson came in third place with an NCAA DII Provisional mark of 7.21 meters.
Vincent Volpe, Thomas Nelson and
Jacob McPherson finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively in the weight throw with Volpe (18.24m) and Nelson (18.10m) both posting provisional marks.
Michael McNeil placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.14 seconds and sixth in the 400-meter in 49.37.
Sheldon McNicholas placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 14.16 meters as well.
The Dragons have a week to prepare for their next meet where they will host the Tiffin Open 2 in the Heminger Center on Saturday, January 20.
